The client, SONY, was receiving performance & health information from their global laptops, desktops and other devices that was resulting in millions of records of data each day being added to a multi-billion record database. The management team was required to produce daily analytical reports of this data, except these reports were taking more than 24 hours to generate.
F.C.S. was engaged to architect and implement a solution so reporting could be completed within 24 hours. Leveraging N-Form normalization techniques, pre-calculations as data arrived, star schemas and other data optimization techniques the data space requirements were reduced from Petabytes to a few hundred gigabytes, reporting time was reduced to sub-second, analytical / reporting capabilities were increased, and overall support and infrastructure costs were dramatically reduced. There was no loss in data integrity or resolution.

The client (SONY) has numerous types of devices, such as cameras, televisions, Speakers, Movie players and recorders, to name of few, sold and supported globally. Many of these devices support Near-Field Communication or can provide a QR Code for the device. F.C.S. was engaged to architect and implement a solution that will enable to enterprise to provide a single mobile and PC support application that can interact with each device based on the device capabilities, allowing each device support “unit” in SONY to independently publish their device specific identification scripts and analysis, control and/or support information. The application leverage Near-Field Communication when applicable or QR Codes, sending identifying information to a web end-point which queried the “system” (via the scripts provided by each device support department) for their next set of options and commands to present in the calling application. Menu option selections or automation client-side commands could request additional commands from the server, relative to the department provided self-identifying scripts. For example. A user would use their SONY mobile app to scan the QR code that their SONY TV would display. The mobile app would send the QR code to the SONY support server. The server run the list of support identification scripts provided by each SONY department to identify which script could provide support for that device. The next related set of scripts would be performed to support the options for the next set of support, such as providing an link to the device manual OR automatically interrogating the TV to determine its current settings, such as noticing that the volume is too low and providing an option to turn up the TV volume via the Mobile App. (Patent: US 9,444,518 B2)
Surgeons can take hundreds of X-Rays during complex surgeries, such as back surgery. As a result, these surgeons regularly suffer complications from radiation exposure, many times these doctors die young as a result of these exposures. As part of the team, F.C.S. assisted in developing the application to assist doctors in these surgeries, everything from scheduling to planning and ordering equipment needed for the surgery as well as surgical support. Some features included placement of and monitoring of electrical signals sent across specific nerves to detect and warn the surgeon if they are getting too close to a specific nerve during the surgery. Additionally F.C.S. provided assistance in the manipulation of the various X-Rays collected during the surgery, allowing the software to automatically stich together X-Rays as well as overlay subsequent X-Rays. This allows the surgeon to dramatically reduce the intensity of subsequent X-Rays up to 90% - providing a much safer environment for the entire surgical team.
